The world population is growing rapidly

The world population has shot up in the past 200 years. The growth in population is due to the difference between the Geburtenrate (birthrate) and the Sterberate (death rate). The growth, that we have experienced the past centuries, is a global issue and also contributes to Globale Erwärmung (global warming).

If this growth stays constant, the Weltbevölkerung (world population) will double itself in within 61 years; Whilst at the time of the birth of Jesus there were only 300 Million people on Earth, which shot up to around half a billion in 1650, the population verdreifacht (tripled) to 1.6 billion in 1900.

Due to medizinischen Fortschritt (medical development), the death rate decreased dramatically after World War II, which increased the population between 1965 and 2000 from 3.3 billion to 6 billion.

Since 1950 however, the birthrate decreased in the Industrieländern (industrialized countries), which lead to a reduction in the world population and therefore balanced the growth out a bit.

However, the birthrate in the 3rd world countries shot up. In India alone, the population increases by 15 million people a year. The growth in Africa, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Indonesia and the Philippines is also extremely high. Due to this Entwicklung (development), there will be many conflicts in the future as the resources are becoming less and less, especially water, which will lead to many problems.
