It’s the 1st of March and spring is nearly at our Tür (door). Its about time. Afterall, we have all had enough of the winter, snow and the Kälte (cold)! Officially spring will start on the 21st march, however from a meteorological point of view, it begins on the 1st of März (march). No wonder. The weather is so beautiful we all feel like we have entered spring time.
In march, you see the first Schneeglöckchen (snow bells) and in may the apple trees and lavender bloom. In spring, the days also become länger (longer) and the nights kürzer (shorter), so it is finally lighter and brighter outside in the evenings. Because of this, everyone is in a better Laune (mood), the birds sing, the grass gets greener and the beautiful Farben (colors) of all the flowers, change the world around us. This is why spring is seen as a type of new beginning. For a lot of people, spring has a very important Bedeutung (meaning), which is where things such as spring cleaning and spring feelings come from.
Now it’s the time, we should go for walks, sit in street cafes and genießen (enjoy) the sunshine.
